Railroad Signal Safety Improvements to Begin Soon

Railroad Crossing Signal

Beginning sometime in late February, Norfolk Southern railroad will begin replacing railroad crossing warning devices at the following crossings:  Pope Street, Winona Avenue, Market Street, Center Street, Main Street, Fort Wayne Street, Lyon Street, Arthur Street.

This railroad project will take approximately 8 months to complete.  Work will begin at the southernmost crossings, moving north.  Crews may work on more than one crossing at a time, depending on available manpower.  Crossings should remain open at most times, with some intermittent lane restrictions and short-term closures.
