Public Education and Outreach
 center and grace logo_thumb.jpg

As part of Public Education and Outreach, the City of Warsaw partners with the Center for Lakes & Streams to bring hands-on water quality education to Kosciusko County students for the purpose of teaching the next generation the importance of caring for our water resources. The center's programs, such as the Classroom Lake Experience, Lake Adventure Days, and the Lakes & Streams Art Contest reach over 7,000 students annually at more than 25 local schools.

The City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility will be participating in the Northern Indiana Lakes Festival over Memorial Day Weekend and the Kosciusko Fair. Stormwater Utility will be educating on what we as a community and as an individual contribute to water pollution; more importantly, on what simple tasks we can do to reduce our impact on the environment.

Feedback from the community is necessary in improving educational programs. Currently, Stormwater Utility collaborates with the Center for Lakes & Streams for its educational programs. However, if you know of a teacher that desires incorporating a lesson on water quality contact the MS4 Coordinator to either receive educational resources or a presentation on water quality. If you have any comments, concerns, or requests, please contact Ryan Workman, (574) 372-9562.
