Elder Abuse
Elderly Woman  Elder Abuse is rarely an isolated incident.  It usually recurs, sometimes quite frequently and over an extended period of time.  Abusers tend to live with their victims.

Types of Elder Abuse include:  physical abuse (non-accidental use of physical force that results in bodily injury, pain or impairment), sexual abuse (non-consensual sexual contact of any kind with an elderly person), neglect (willful or non-willful/passive failure by the caregiver to fulfill their care-taking responsibility to meet the needs of an elder, emotional or psychological abuse (willful infliction of mental or emotional anguish by threat, humiliation, intimidation, or other verbal or nonverbal abusive conduct), financial or material exploitation (unauthorized conversion, transfer, or use of funds, property, or resources of an older person for personal gain), and institutional abuse (refers to any of the above types of abuse that occur in residential facilities for the elderly).
