Warsaw Municipal Airport is always interested in heightening the public’s awareness of aviation. It coordinates closely with the local EAA Chapter, which hosts an annual Fly-In Pancake Breakfast each summer and Fly-In Fun Day each fall. Additionally, the airport provides the Chapter with a hangar at the nominal rental fee of $1 per year. This arrangement allows the Chapter a place to work on Kit Plane Projects, a location to hold training seminars, to host their Pancake Breakfast Fly-In, and raise funds through voluntary donations for hangaring transient aircraft.
The staff conducts frequent tours of the airport and its facilities for local schools, daycares, and any other organizations seeking an interesting field trip for its members and patrons. The staff has participated in several “Reading is Fundamental” programs at local elementary schools, reading aviation related books to the student groups.
Perhaps most important, Warsaw Municipal Airport is an enthusiastic supporter of Warsaw Community High School’s Cooperative Education Program. The airport’s current part-time line technician came to the airport through that program and is presently attending Purdue University with an Aviation Management major.
