Reduction in City Tax Rate Approved by Council

Scissors cutting the word Tax

On February 5, the Warsaw Common Council approved reductions to the 2018 budget, which then led to them lowering the City's tax rate.

The Common Council reviewed and discussed Line 1 cuts (cuts from the 2018 budget) in the amount of $372,000.  Those budget cuts were then approved unanimously.

As a result of the budget cuts and a healthy reserve, the Common Council then voted to reduce the City of Warsaw's tax rate from $1.274 to $1.272.

Departments will continue to be diligent with spending, planning, and appropriate budgeting moving forward to support the City's healthy financial standing and below average tax rate.
