Local donations, the United Way of Kosciusko County, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, and K21 Health Foundation provide funding for this program. Federal funding is prohibited from being placed into mobile homes. In Kosciusko County, 17% of the homeowners own mobile homes. It is essential to have a repair program available to this population. This is an affordable housing option for low- to moderate-income families, the elderly, and the disabled population.
The program repairs the homes, and a loan is set up during the affordability period so that the family may pay back a portion of the work done. The program was also set up as a revolving loan fund, so in the future this program can be perpetual and stand on its own.
